DEI is the only national non-profit organization offering comprehensive development and marketing expertise to public radio stations. Dedicated solely to the success of the station, DEI has an established reputation as a neutral, independent, and collaborative organization without hidden or competing agendas, and is the recognized industry leader on revenue issues.
Serving over 270 member stations nationwide, DEI provides national leadership on fundraising issues, as well as advisory, training, and outsourcing services to its members. DEI organizes the annual Public Media Development and Marketing Conference, the largest annual conference in public radio. DEI advocates for the integration of development, marketing, and new media in partnership with programming and management at stations. Since 1982, DEI has served public radio and dual licensee stations in major, mid-sized, and small markets, on the coasts, and in middle America.
